MONSUKĪ
My Hair. That is what MONSUKĪ means. MON meaning ‘my’ or ‘mine’ in French and SUKI meaning ‘hair’ in Lingala - one of the +200 languages from the Democratic Republic of Congo. This blend of words resulted in our brandname MONSUKĪ. Since The roots of the company lie in Congo, it only makes sense for the name to be a reflection of the country.

At MONSUKĪ we value ownership. Owning your way of life, narrative, freedom, care of self, strength, confidence, beauty and your happiness are all personal things in life. Everyones perception of anything is different, but the one thing we all have in common is that we own our personal perceptions.

Raw hair
MONSUKĪ specializes in the supply of real human hair from one donor. We offer only the best. The cuticles of our raw hair face the same direction, from root to tip. This ensures longevity, luster and vibrant movement of the hair. The relationship between mankind and their hair has been a long and sometimes even complex one. We believe that ‘When you look good, you feel better’. By facilitating our clients with high quality hair we are doing our part in elevating the spirits of each and every one of them.
The Owner
CYNTHIA MAKOFI
Passionate and devoted wig colorist Cynthia, started making wigs for herself, her family and friends over 10 years ago as a hobby and form of protective styling. Achieving a realistic look was her highest priority. By studying iconic hairstylists such as Sheisthebeauty, Hairbykele, Eugenze, Chrissy Bales and Stella Yato she was able to perfect her craft and learn how to correctly color hair.
Unexpectedly, the demand for wigs made by Cynthia started to grow beyond just family and friends and the young wigmaker decided to start her own company.
Now - with a small team - Cynthia has been able to help people globally protect their natural hair from damage and regain their confidence. And she’s not planning on stopping anytime soon.

The roots of the essence of MONSUKĪ lie in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The DRC is widely recognized as the richest country in the world in natural resources. As beautiful as that may sound, the people in the country do not reap the benefits of this fact at all.
MONSUKĪ believes that in a country of so many, we have a responsibility to share our riches, resources and gifts to those who are less fortunate. We believe it is both our duty and an honor to be in a position to give back.

Make A Difference's goal is to help underprivileged children in Congo.
At the moment they focus on distributing school supplies. But also in other areas they would like to make a change. By doing this, they want to play a role in giving children and their families strength, hope and opportunity to make the best out of their futures.
That’s why 10% of MONSUKĪ’S profit goes to this charity.
